Bring home the functionality and features of a much larger lathe with this compact G0838 16" x 24" Variable-Speed Wood Lathe. Don't let its small size fool you, this stout machine has plenty to offer. With a 2 HP 3-phase motor using a VFD to operate on single-phase 220V power, this lathe gives you the extra torque needed for turning hard woods at really low speeds. Additionally, the headstock slides along the precision-ground cast iron bed and can be locked in place on the tailstock side for outboard turning of much larger pieces. This machine is a bowl-turner's dream!

Love the power, dial for the speed, and reverse! Easy to set up. Left the feet off as Iā€™m 5ā€™2ā€. The thrust bearing in the tail stock kept us from putting hand wheel on, was bent in half, a call to grizzly and one is on the way. The only thing that could be better about this machine is the two plastic handles that swings the tool rest and locks the tailstock shaft. I see them breaking from wear eventually so will order a couple for extras. Ordered from US Tool who had the best price and shipping was quick.
