his Drill Press came about as a personal project of the President of Grizzly. He wanted the convenience of a gearhead drill press with variable speeds, a digital speed readout, long spindle throw, nice beefy handles, a crosstable with table power feed, and the most important feature, a power feed to move the heavy table up and down. This had not been done before and the factory's initial reaction was, "we cannot do that." Not accepting that as an answer, several meetings were held with engineers and some special parts were made and, voila! We had a table which powered up and down!
This was a personal drill press for the President's shop at his home, but when he saw how unique it was, he decided to make it available to Grizzly's customers, some of whom may like a high-end, fully-loaded drill press. Buy once, cry once!
