Grizzly G0766
I've been turning for about six months now. This lathe was my first choice, but I bought a Jet 1221 lathe instead, not sure if I would like turning enough to justify the Grizzly. I love turning, and this lathe is great. I haven't turned anything yet at the maximum capacity of the Grizzly, but pieces completely out of balance that would have had the Jet rocking across the floor, I can turn at 500-600 rpm with virtually no vibration, and the lathe has plenty of power to easily take those quite violent initial corner cuts. The ways are so smooth. Moving the tailstock and the banjo are effortless compared to the milled ways of the Jet lathe. Best of all, my wife is enjoying turning, and she can work on one lathe while I work on the other. We have so much fun working in my woodshop together making Christmas presents for the kids and grandkids. No regret at all. Doing business with U.S. Tool Depot was a pleasure. My lathe shipped a few days after I placed the order. It arrived without any damage, and I save several hundreds of dollars over what others were offering this lathe for online. I am a very happy customer.
